When, Who & Where?

You just got engaged and you have your budget set. You are ready to get to work. "So, what's the next step", you ask...The task at hand should be your date, guest list, and location. Your wedding date and guest list are very important when considering a location for your special day.

Something important to think about when setting your wedding date is that this is the day that you and your husband/wife-to-be will celebrate as the day that your lives became one. Will it be a day that is significant for your entire family? Or will it be one that only has very special meaning to the two of you? How flexible are you with your date? Will you consider changing it if your desired location is booked on the day that you have chosen?

Once your date is set, it is time to move on to the guest list. Who do you want to share in this special day with you? Will it be an intimate affair with your closest family & friends? Will you invite all of your distant aunts, uncles, and cousins who you don't talk to regularly but would be devastated if they didn't receive an invitation? Can your desired location accommodate you and all of your guests?

Our next post will expand on the where part of this post. There are many options available when deciding on a location for your wedding. Remember that whatever you decide, it should be a reflection of you as a couple.

What's Your Magic Number?

You just got engaged and you're so excited, you don't know where to start. A great way to start planning your wedding is by setting your budget. Your magic number. Your budget will help you stay on track and out of debt.

Establishing a budget helps you determine what aspect of your wedding is most important to you and how much you want to spend in each area. Do you want flowers flown in from all parts of the world or would you prefer locally grown seasonal flowers for your wedding? Would you like to offer a 7-course meal full of gourmet delicacies? These, as well as many more, are important questions to consider when figuring out what your budget will be.

Whatever your magic number is, make sure it's an amount that you are comfortable spending to ensure that your wedding is exactly what YOU want it to be. It's also important to include a little extra money in case any surprises arise because, although you will have a wonderful wedding planner to assist you & make sure everything goes as planned, it's always a great idea to have a back up plan. So...what's your magic number?

Recession-Proof Wedding Tips

We know that times are getting tough, but that doesn't mean that you have to delay your wedding planning. We've come up with some tips to help you successfully execute an elegant event.

-Set a budget and stick to it! I can't stress how important it is to set a budget. Whether it's $1,500 or $15,000. Know exactly how much you can afford. Cut back on spending habits. This is YOUR wedding that you are planning.

-Wedding decor can be expensive, but don't let that get you down. Ask a few friends to help you decorate. Search the web, look for DIY alternatives (check out DIY Bride, she's the best!), and get creative.

- Have your wedding at a friend or family members home or at your local park.

-DJ's are expesive but you can download all your songs on your ipod and time your play list.

- Shorten your guest list. We know that sounds crazy, but it can help.

We hope these tips could help you in any way.
