Congratulations to the Prince and Princess of Monaco!!

2011 is the year of royal weddings!! First the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, William and Catherine in April. Now, Prince Albert, son of Prince Rainier III and Princess Grace Kelly, to Charlene Wittstock, a former South African competitive swimmer.

Isn't she beautiful?! She is wearing a silk Giorgio Armani gown with a nearly 16 foot train that screams simple elegance. A trend that isn't going away any time soon.  Embellished with 40,000 crystals and 20,000 beads made from Mother-of-Pearl, this gown took lots of hard work and great attention to detail that definitely paid off. She chose a beautiful silver jeweled headpiece instead of a tiara or jewelry. They were joined by 2 matrons of honor and 6 bridesmaid, and over 4,000 guests that included Karl Lagerfeld and Naomi Campbell at the traditional Catholic mass that was conducted in French, Afrikaans, and English.

For the reception, the bride as well as some of the guests changed into their evening attire for their lavish affair.  There was a huge fireworks display that included a giant bouquet of fire flowers and we can't forget the wedding cake.

I am seriously in cake heaven right now! This enormous (or ginormous-as I love to say) cake was made with over 100 pounds of strawberries and 2,000 edible flowers, including Proteas, the national flower of South Africa in honor of Princess Charlene. Do you think there were any leftovers? A girl can always dream right?

We want to wish Prince Albert and Princess Charlene a beautifully, blessed marriage!! Congratulations again Prince and Princess of Monaco.
